Step 1: Start With Your Account Settings

Think of your account settings like the foundation of a house. If you build on shaky ground, everything else gets wobbly.

The very first thing to do is head into your Settings and fill out your business details. That means your business name, your contact info, and your time zone. (Yes, time zone matters — especially if you're sending emails or running automations!)

Also, take a peek at your payment settings and make sure your account info is connected. You don't want to sell something and then realize your money has nowhere to go. That's a sad day. Don't let that be you.

Step 2: Get to Know Your Dashboard

Here's the deal: Kajabi can feel like a lot when you first log in. There are a lot of menu items, a lot of buttons, and it can feel overwhelming fast.

So let's break it down super simple. Your Kajabi dashboard has five main sections:

• Products — This is where you build your courses, memberships, and digital products.
• Sales — This is where your offers, coupons, and checkouts live.
• Marketing — This is home base for your emails, funnels, and automations.
• Website — This is where you design your pages and blog (hey, you're reading it right now!).
• Settings — This is your backstage pass to all your account configurations.

You don't need to master all of these today. But knowing where things are? That's half the battle. Give yourself a little tour and just click around. Nothing is going to break, I promise.

Step 3: Set Up Your Business Details the Right Way

Inside your Settings, there's a section for your business details — things like your business name, logo, and address. Fill. These. Out. Now.

Why does this matter so much? Because this info shows up in your emails, on your checkout pages, and across your entire site. If you skip it, your emails might look unprofessional (or worse, land in the spam folder). Nobody wants that.

Think of it like getting dressed before you leave the house. You wouldn't walk out the door in your pajamas for an important meeting, right? Same idea here.

Step 4: Configure Your Backend Before You Build Anything

Okay, I know "backend configurations" sounds super technical. But it's really not that scary.

Before you start building out courses or landing pages, take a few minutes to:

• Set up your custom domain (if you have one)
• Connect your email settings
• Review your notification preferences
• Check your integrations tab to connect tools you already use

Getting these small things done now means you won't be scrambling to fix them later when you're in the middle of a launch. Future you will be so, so grateful.

Step 5: Don't Skip the Tour... Explore Every Menu

Here's my favorite piece of advice: be a little nosy.

Click on every menu item. Poke around. See what's there. You are not going to break Kajabi by exploring it. The more comfortable you get with the platform now, the faster you'll move when it's time to actually build.

Pay special attention to how Products, Sales, Marketing, Website, and Settings are connected. They talk to each other! Understanding that relationship makes everything click (pun intended).
